With your interest in Education Technology, I recommend you take a look at Wiziq's virtual classroom and authorstream's power point presentation platform. Both are web based platforms, have a bunch of features and free basic service. Here’s a public class recording conducted by Nellie Deutsch on Technology Integration.
Hi Becca, I currently teach math and science in a sped program at a voc school. I have been a sped teacher for 20 years and worked in a variety of programs, from severely handicapped to behavior. You are correct, there are not many networks that help support special ed students and teachers. Take a look at our classroom wiki at lpvec-prep.wikspaces.com.
I am interested in networking with people who are focused specifically on the use of online and 2.0 resources in special education, although I have not been able to find any such group yet. If you are aware of any, please let me know!
In the mean time, I'm excited about what I'll be able to learn and contribute here. :)
